For more than seven decades, Kirori Mal College has remained, one of the flagship institutions, of the University of Delhi. Its reputation rests, not only on academic achievements, but also, on nurturing generations of leaders, scholars, scientists, civil servants, entrepreneurs, artists, and public servants, who have contributed significantly, to India’s progress. Institutions earn distinction, not merely through rankings, or infra-structure, but through, the quality of citizens, they help shape.

Beginning, higher education is, one of the defining moments, in a young person’s life. It is a period, of intellectual discovery,
 

personal growth, and expanding horizons. The education you receive here, will prepare you, not only for a profession, but also for, the responsibilities of citizenship, in an interconnected, and rapidly changing world.

The National Education Policy, has re-imagined higher education, by encouraging, multi-discipline learning, critical thinking, research, and innovation. I am particularly pleased, that today’s programme, also recognises students, who have published research papers, under the Four-Year Under-graduate Programme. This reflects, a healthy academic culture, where
 

inquiry begins early, and students are encouraged, to contribute to knowledge creation, rather than merely, acquire knowledge.

I congratulate all the students, and their faculty mentors, being felicitated today. Their achievements, demonstrate the importance, of curiosity, disciplined research, and meaningful mentorship, in building a vibrant, academic eco-system.

It is equally encouraging, to witness the inauguration, of the Kirori Mal College In-cu-bation Centre. Innovation and entrepreneur-ship, are becoming central pillars, of India’s growth story. As Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji has said,
 

“India’s university campuses, are emerging as dynamic centres, where Yuva Shakti drives, break-through innovations.”

As India advances, towards Viksit Bharat by 2047, our universities, must continue to nurture research, innovation, and entrepreneur-ship, so that ideas generated on campus, become solutions, that transform society. The inauguration of the Science Block Lift, further reflects, the college’s commitment, to accessibility and inclusive-ness, ensuring equal opportunity, for all students.
 

India today stands, at an extra-ordinary moment, in its development journey. We are witnessing, rapid advances in technology, artificial intelligence, manu-facturing, digital public infra-structure, and scientific research. The opportunities before today’s youth, are un-precedented, and equally significant, are the responsibilities, that accompany them.

Your years at Kirori Mal College, should therefore, be a time to cultivate, intellectual curiosity, scientific temperament, and independent thinking. Learn across disciplines, question assumptions, embrace new ideas, and remain open, to diverse

perspectives. These qualities, will be indispensable, in a world where knowledge evolves faster, than ever before.

At the same time, excellence must always be, accompanied by integrity, discipline, and a commitment, to public service. Whatever path you choose—academia, research, entrepreneurship, public administration, industry, or the arts—your success, will ultimately be measured by, the positive difference, you make to society.

As you begin, this new chapter, I encourage you, to make full use, of the exceptional opportunities, Kirori Mal College and
