Raj Niwas today hosted more than 500 academics, during the nationwide “Viksit Bharat @2047” event, which was addressed by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually. The Prime Minister appealed to the faculty / teachers present at the event to engage with their students and youth and exhort them to come out with fresh ideas on how to make India a developed nation by 2047. Welcome remarks were made by Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
Vice Chancellors of Central and State Universities along with Directors of Institutions in Delhi, participated in the programme. Following the Prime Minister’s speech, a Panel Discussion and question-answer session were held with Vice Chancellors and faculty members as participants, on the theme of “Empowered Indians”. The sub-theme in the Discussion included, Education & Economy, Health, Technology for growth and Happiness as Development. Various ideas emerged during this discussion, which will be further taken up by the students in the respective institutions / universities. The proceedings were stream live to the campuses of all the institutions present at Raj Niwas, where thousands of others watched it.
A brain-storming Session with Vice-Chancellors and Directors as participants, on how to engage youth in contributing towards Viksit Bharat @2047 and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) for the same, was also organized.
The Lt. Governor, Shri V K Saxena, while addressing the august gathering at Raj Niwas, said that, as outlined by the Prime Minister in his address, all present will have to work towards making India the most powerful economy of the world where every Indian is happy, content, healthy and empowered.
Addressing the gathering of esteemed academicians, the LG reminded them of the responsibility that the academia has in the shaping of a new India. He underlined that their role in engaging with the youth and shaping them for the path ahead, is going to be very vital as it will help shape the students of next generation towards nation building.
He emphasised that to attain this goal, it is important for the youth to join this movement and share their dream and vision on Viksit Bharat @2047.
He reiterated that the Hon’ble Prime Minister always talks about the power of youth in the country because tomorrow’s India will be at the responsible hand of those young citizens who are now studying in schools and colleges. These students are the ones who in future will shape the society, state and nation by taking critical and crucial decisions.
The LG added that in the country of 140 crore people with 28 States and 08 Union Territories, subscribing to 08 different religions, speaking 122 languages and 1600 dialects, different culture and food habits, there was one identity that bound them all. This identity, the LG underlined was that of being an Indian - Bharatiya.
He further said that Prime Minister had laid down the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 as a ‘People’s Movement’ and appealed to the faculty, through them the youth and students of Delhi to become active participants in this movement. Shri Saxena added that the suggestions and ideas given by the youth would lead us in making a new and vibrant Bharat, as it was the youth of today, who are going to be the decision makers and architects of India of 2047.
Shri Saxena said that the dream of Viksit Bharat cannot be realised until every hand finds employment and every deprived individual on the margins gets justice. Therefore, it is necessary that we make this mission a national movement so that the country can move forward in all spheres of life.
The LG requested the faculty and teachers to motivate all students of Colleges and Universities to be associated with the MahaKumbh of nation building. He adviced the Heads of the Institutions to establish special cells in their campuses, that could engage with students and monitor the progress of endeavours being undertaken.
