Today’s inauguration, of the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, in Vikaspuri, marks an important step, in strengthening citizen-centric service delivery, in Delhi.

Over the last decade, India has witnessed a remarkable transformation, in public service delivery. Technology, has moved from being, a support mechanism, to becoming a central pillar of governance. Whether it is financial inclusion, welfare, healthcare, education, or administration, digital platforms are increasingly shaping, how citizens interact with the state.

At the centre of this transformation, is Aadhaar.

Aadhaar, is often described as, a digital identity platform, but its significance, goes much beyond identification. It has become a vital component, of India’s digital public infrastructure, enabling

millions to access services, and opportunities efficiently, and transparently. For many citizens, Aadhaar serves, as the first point of access, to government services. It facilitates direct benefit transfers, supports financial inclusion, reduces leakages, and simplifies interactions, between citizens and institutions.

As Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji has emphasized: “Aadhaar, eKYC and digital platforms, have eliminated the complexity of documentation. With technology, corruption has decreased, and credibility, has increased.”

This vision underlines, how Aadhaar has advanced transparency, accessibility, and inclusivity, in governance.

What makes this particularly significant, is the scale, at which it operates. In a country, as large and diverse, as India, delivering services efficiently, is always a challenge. Aadhaar has bridged, that gap by creating, a common digital foundation that supports, multiple public services.

The inauguration of this, Aadhaar Seva Kendra, should therefore be viewed, in that larger context. It is not merely, the opening of  another  service  centre,—it  is  an  investment,  in

accessibility.

As Delhi continues to grow, the demand for efficient, reliable, and citizen-friendly services, will increase. Residents expect public services, to be transparent, and responsive. Institutions must continuously adapt, to meet these expectations. The expansion of. Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Delhi, reflects this effort.

With six operational centres now, serving the capital, thousands of residents, will have easier access, to Aadhaar enrolment, updates, biometric services, and related facilities. Together, these centres have the capacity, to serve several thousand residents, every day, making essential services, more convenient.

I would also like to highlight, the importance of the, Mandatory Biometric Update programme, for children. As children grow, their biometric information, changes significantly. I encourage parents across Delhi, to take advantage of the, free biometric update camps, being organised.

Delhi, as the national capital, has an important role to play, in demonstrating, how digital governance can be efficient, inclusive and accessible. Initiatives such as, Aadhaar Seva Kendras contribute to that objective, by bringing services closer to residents, and reducing barriers, to access.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the efforts, of UID-AI, and its team, for continuously expanding, and strengthening, Aadhaar services, across the country. May this centre serve, as a reminder that governance is strongest, when it is citizen-friendly, and closest to the people.

Thank you.

Jai Hind.
