I extend my congratulations, to the college community on this proud and joyous occasion, celebrating the Annual Day, of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce. 

An Annual Day is not merely a ceremonial gathering-it is a celebration of excellence, determination, and the vibrant spirit, that binds an institution together. Over the past four decades, this college has carved a distinct identity, within the University of Delhi. Rooted in the noble teachings and legacy, of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, this institution stands, as a beacon of courage, discipline, and service.

As our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, has rightly said - 'When the resolve of an individual or an institution is towards the country then its achievements are equated with the achievements of the nation.' This college has truly embodied this spirit over four decades of distinguished service. 
On this occasion, it is also important, to recognise the role of teachers, in this evolving environment.

AI has significantly reduced barriers, to information, enabling students to access and generate content, with ease. While this expands opportunity, it also underscores the distinction, between access to information, and depth of understanding.

In this context, the role of the teacher, becomes more nuanced,-shifting from providing answers, to developing judgment, interpretation, critical thinking, and application. Learning requires engagement, and reflection, and teachers remain central, to enabling this process. Motivation, confidence, curiosity, and resilience, cannot be downloaded-they are developed through interaction.

Equally important is their mentoring role. In a world of abundant information, students require direction and perspective-something that technology alone cannot provide. The relationship, between technology and education is, therefore, complementary. 

To the students gathered here today, I extend my warmest congratulations. Your achievements in academics, co-curricular activities, sports, and cultural pursuits, are a testament to your determination, and talent. But as you celebrate, your success, I urge you to remember, a profound teaching from Gurbani: "ਮਨ ਜੀਤੇ ਜਗ ਜੀਤ ॥" (Man jeete jag jeet)- Conquer your mind, and you conquer the world. This simple, yet powerful message, reminds us that true victory lies, in self-mastery. Discipline, focus, and clarity of purpose, are essential, in navigating the complexities, of modern life.

We are living in an era, of unprecedented transformation. Concepts, such as digital economies, financial technology, artificial intelligence, and global supply chains, are reshaping, how businesses operate. The skills that were relevant, yesterday, may not suffice tomorrow. Therefore, adaptability and continuous learning, have become, the cornerstones of success. In such a dynamic environment, I urge you to cultivate, three essential qualities: curiosity, resilience, and integrity.

Curiosity will drive you, to explore new ideas, question established norms, and innovate. Never stop asking "why" and "what if." It is through curiosity, that breakthroughs are made, and progress is achieved.

Equally important is resilience. The journey ahead will, not always, be smooth. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. Believe in your potential, even when, circumstances seem difficult.

Integrity, above all, will define your character. In a competitive world, there may be temptations, to take shortcuts, or compromise on values. But remember, true success is built on a foundation of honesty, and ethics. Your reputation, once lost, is difficult to regain. Let your actions, reflect your principles, and let your principles, guide your decisions.

I would, also like to emphasize, the importance of social responsibility. As students of commerce, many of you will go, on to become business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and professionals. The decisions you make, will have far-reaching implications, not just for your organizations, but for society at large. It is, therefore essential, to adopt a mind-set, that balances, profit with purpose.

As we look ahead, India stands at the threshold, of immense opportunity. With its young population, and growing global presence, the nation looks to you-the youth-to lead with vision, and responsibility. You must, not only strive, for personal success, but also contribute to societal progress. Issues such as sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical leadership, require your active participation.

As students of this prestigious institution, you carry forward a legacy. You are ambassadors of values, knowledge, and integrity. Wherever you go, let your actions reflect, the teachings you have imbibed.

Let me conclude, with a thought: strive not just for success, but for significance. Success may bring recognition, but significance brings purpose. When your work positively impacts others, your life gains deeper meaning.

I would also like to acknowledge, the role of parents and families, whose unwavering support, forms the foundation, of every student's success. Your encouragement, sacrifices, and belief in your children, deserve, our deepest appreciation.

On this special occasion, I once again congratulate Sri Guru Gobind Singh, College of Commerce, on its Annual Day. May this institution, continue to flourish, and inspire, generations to come.

I wish you, a future filled with courage, wisdom, and compassion.
