  • President, Board of Trustees, Ms. Mira Pradeep Singh Ji,

  • Secretary, Board of Trustees, Ms. Ambika Pant Ji,

  • Chairman, School Managing Committee, Justice (Retd.) Mudgal Ji

  • Principal, Dr. Datta V Ji,

  • Distinguished guests, teachers, parents and dear students,

It is wonderful to be here, today, and to see so much, energy, excitement and enthusiasm, all around.

Modern School completes, 106 years today, which is, a remarkable milestone. Its journey has been extraordinary, to say it most mildly, ever since it was founded, under the vision of   Lala Raghubir Singh Ji.

Generations of students, have passed through its classrooms, and gone on to make their mark, in different fields.

What makes a school special, is not, just its buildings, or its results. It is the people, who make it, what it is, and the opportunities, it gives its students.

And I believe that school is, about much more, than textbooks, examinations, and marks. It is where children, begin to discover, who they are, what they enjoy, what they are good at, and what they aspire, to become. And events like Founder’s Day, provide an opportunity, to celebrate, not just achievements, but also the confidence, creativity, and talent, of our young students.

I have just got a glimpse, of the performances, that will unfold today. The beautiful musical, show has shown, what young people can achieve, when they work hard, and get the right guidance.

I congratulate all who took part.

My message to all the students, is very simple: remember three things:

  1. NEVER FEAR FAILURE: Treat every setback, as an opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger.

Also don’t measure success, only by, marks, prizes or positions.

There will be times, when you succeed, and times when you fail. Both are a learning process and part of life. Do not let failure, discourage you. Learn from it, work harder and try again.

These are important, but they are not everything. What matters just as much, is how much you learn, how you treat others, and how you respond, when things do not, go your way.

  2. DREAM BIG: Set ambitious goals, work sincerely, and never limit, your aspirations.

Always stay curious. Ask questions, read widely, take part in activities, and discover, what you are good at. Make the most of this phase of your life. Participate, explore, play, read, make friends, and create memories. Remember, success is important, but enjoying the journey, and learning along the way, are equally important.

  3. FOLLOW YOUR PASSION: Believe in yourself, and have the courage to pursue, what you truly love.

Our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has often said, “The future belongs, to those, who keep learning.” In a world, where technology, artificial intelligence, and new ideas, are changing rapidly, this message has become, even more relevant. Knowledge will, continue to evolve, but qualities, such as honesty, curiosity, and kindness, will always remain valuable.

In the context of, following one’s passion; I would like to make, a special mention, of Maliha Arora Nayal, a young student, of Modern School, whose achievements, are indeed commendable. At this young age, she has made Delhi proud, by excelling, in ice speed skating, winning medals, at national championships, and representing India, at international competitions.

Her dedication, discipline, and determination, are an inspiration, to other students. I congratulate Maliha, and wish her many more successes, in the years ahead. And I will also, ask the board and teachers, to encourage and support her.

I would also like to acknowledge, the teachers, who play such an important role, in shaping young minds. Teaching is not, just about imparting knowledge; it is about inspiring confidence, encouraging curiosity, and helping every child, realise their potential. Behind every successful student, there is a teacher, who has guided, encouraged, and believed, in them. I compliment the dedication, and commitment, of the teachers, and the entire school staff.

I again congratulate the Principal, teachers, staff, parents and students, on this special occasion. May Modern School, continue to guide, and inspire young minds, for the coming years. And in particular, train their students, to keep up the practical approach on outside the box

Thank You.

Jai Hind.
