It’s a pleasure to be with you, at the 39th Convocation of, Indira Gandhi National Open University. My warm congratulations, to all of you, graduating today.
This is a moment, of well-earned achievement, reflecting years of dedication, discipline, and persistence, not only on your part, but also on the part of your families, and mentors, who supported you, through this journey.
What makes this achievement, even more special, is where it comes from. IGNOU has truly transformed, education in India. For decades, it has broken barriers of distance, time, and circumstance,—reaching millions of learners, across the country.
Whether it is working professionals, women managing multiple responsibilities, or students from remote areas, IGNOU has made learning possible, for all. That scale and inclusiveness is, its greatest strength.
And each one of you, is a proof of that impact.
Now, as you step out, you are entering a world, that is changing very fast. India today, is full of opportunity—whether in startups, technology, public service, or creative fields. These ventures are, not only creating economic value, but are also addressing, real-world challenges, generating employment, and driving, technological advancement. For many of you, this represents an opportunity, to think beyond traditional career pathways, and to explore innovation-driven roles, whether as entrepreneurs, collaborators, or contributors, to emerging industries.
At the same time, we are living in a time, of rapid technological change—AI, digital platforms, new ways of working. These changes bring with them, both opportunities and challenges. The opportunity lies in acquiring, new skills, engaging with emerging technologies, and participating in sectors, that are shaping the future. It’s a pleasure to be with you, at the 39th Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University. My warm congratulations, to all of you, graduating today.
Nonetheless, Today’s environment demands, more than just a degree—it demands adaptability, skills, and a willingness, to keep learning. Today, success is, not just about what, or how much you earn, but also, about what you create, what problems you solve, and how you contribute.
So one thing, I would strongly say: never stop learning. Your degree is not, the end of education—it is just the beginning. In fact, IGNOU has already taught you, something very valuable—the ability to learn, on your own. That will stay with you, for life.
Wherever you go from here—whether into careers, entrepreneurship, or public life—remember that, even small actions matter. Integrity, hard work, and empathy, go a long way.
And finally, as you move ahead, stay connected to society. The real measure of your journey, will be the difference, you make—through your work, your integrity, and your contribution to society.
Our Honourable Vice President, has consistently emphasized, that education must not only, empower individuals, but also equip them, with the skills and values, needed to contribute meaningfully to nation-building—an idea that institutions like IGNOU truly embody.”
So today, celebrate your success—but also think, about the journey ahead.
Once again, congratulations to all of you. I wish you confidence, courage, and the determination, to make a positive difference—wherever you go.
