Ladies & Gentlemen,
It is indeed a matter of privilege to stand before you today, as we celebrate the convocation of this prestigious University.
Dear Students,
02. Convocations are momentous occasion for any institution, especially, for the students, who are passing out of the portals of their alma mater. I congratulate all of you, who are graduating today, and getting degrees from the first Pharma University of India, as part of the Class of 2024. Today, marks a significant milestone in your journey, a day that reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and the unwavering pursuit of knowledge.
03. Established in 2015, this University has grown into a distinguished institution over the past decade. Today, we are celebrating a decade of excellence. It is a remarkable achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our faculty, students, and stakeholders. What we commemorate today is a decade-long journey of academic excellence, research, and innovation. Over the past one decade, remarkable progress has been made in establishing high standards of education and research, and positioning the University as a leader in the field of Pharmaceutical and healthcare management.
04. I am proud to state that DPSRU is actively contributing to the vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047", as envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji. I hope that it plays a major role in making India self-reliant in the field of pharma industry - an area, which is significant for our national health, financial as well as physical.
05. I am also pleased, that Dr. Ravichandran V., a distinguished academician, scientist and institution builder, with vast experience in the pharmaceutical field, has joined as the Vice-Chancellor of this esteemed University. I am confident that under his leadership, the legacy of excellence will be carried forward, and the DPSRU will continue to achieve new heights in education, research, and innovation.
06. Attaining an 'A' grade accreditation in its first cycle from NAAC is a testament to the University’s relentless pursuit of academic excellence, quality education, and research-driven innovation. Furthermore, securing the 16th Position in Pharmacy in the NIRF – 2024 rankings is an accomplishment that highlights the institution’s outstanding contributions to education and research at the national level.
07. DPSRU has tremendous strengths that provide a powerful platform for ongoing success. This University is incredibly fortunate to have 6 faculty members listed among the top 2% of world scientists, in a list released by Stanford University. I express my sincere appreciation to all the faculty members of the University for guiding you on your educational journey during these defining years.
08. Having said that, I would like to underline that getting listed in rankings and lists made by foreign universities, should not and cannot be the end-all aim of an institution. To my mind, an institution excels when it produces scholars and professionals that contribute to nation building. Remember:
Thousands of great ideas can’t make you successful,
But execution of one great idea can change the lives of millions.
I am sure that the University will stand up to this goal and produce faculty, researchers, and students, who significantly strengthen the country’s healthcare framework, ensuring better accessibility and quality to all.
09. It is truly commendable that this University is dedicated to aligning its objectives with the principles of the New Education Policy 2020. By embracing innovative pedagogical approaches, emphasizing research-driven learning, and promoting multi-disciplinary education, the University is actively contributing to the transformation of higher education in our nation. The emphasis on innovation, critical thinking, and experiential learning ensures that our graduates, are not only equipped with technical knowledge, but also possess the problem-solving skills and adaptability, required to excel in an ever-evolving global landscape, and for the larger good of the mankind and the nation.

So work relentlessly to achieve your personal and the larger goals. You may be deterred by challenges but with your sheer hard work and perseverance, you would overcome every single challenge in your life.
महाकवि कालिदास ने कहा है:
काम की समाप्ति यदि संतोषजनक हो तो
परिश्रम की थकान याद नहीं रहती।

10. The world needs compassionate, innovative, and resilient leaders, and I have no doubt that you, our graduates, will rise to the occasion. Your journey does not end here - this is merely the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of learning, growth, and service to the mankind. किसी ने बहुत खूब कहा है:
होंगी तुम्हारे पास जमाने भर की डिग्रियाँ,
अगर छलकती आँखों को न पढ़ पाए तो अनपढ़ हो तुम
Today you graduate from Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University and enter the world of professionals. In your time as a student, this probably will remain the single most important day on campus. All the hard-work and toil is being recognized and culminating in you becoming the newest members of the family of the DPSRU alumni – an incredible distinction and a coveted privilege. Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and admiration for all of you. You will now become full independent earning members of “DPSRU family”.
11. Finally, I would like to remind you that, you are among a few fortunate persons who had access to educational experience at this renowned institution. This experience will reward you throughout your life.
12. To this end, I exhort you to realize your potential. Realize what this potential can make you achieve in life and go ahead without fear. I know that it is easier said, than done. Life will require you, to make decisions and move ahead. The decisions you make, may not be always the best. But don’t let failures deter you. For only those, who have the resilience to move ahead, make a difference.
बड़े निर्णय लेते वक्त डरना गलत बात नहीं है,
लेकिन डर के कारण, निर्णय ही न लें, ये गलत बात है।
13. Go ahead and make this country proud, make yourself proud, make your parents proud. The opportunity is literally in your hands. Make the most of this opportunity. Remember:
भाग्यशाली वो है, जिसे अवसर मिलता है,
प्रतिभाशाली वो है, जो अवसर पैदा करता है
विजेता वो है, जो अवसर का उपयोग करता है।
