Lt. Governor extends greetings to all on the 70th anniversary of Constitution Day.
Hon’ble LG holds the Constitution Day celebrations in Delhi to mark the 70th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution.
Constitution Day to be celebrated across Delhi by organizing various activities to generate awareness about ideals enshrined in the constitution of India.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi Sh. Anil Baijal extended his warm greetings to all on the occasion of celebration of the 70th anniversary of Constitution Day. On this occasion, all the employees of Lt. Governor’s Secretariat read the Preamble and Fundamentals Duties enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Later in the day, Hon’ble LG presided over the Constitution Day celebrations to mark 70th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution. The programme was also marked by a brief perspective on Fundamental duties by Prof. Dr. Ranbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University. On this occasion, Hon’ble LG released the activity calendars of DDA, various universities and other departments of GNCTD covering activities to be undertaken throughout the year to create awareness regarding the spirit of the Constitution of India.
Chief Secretary, Delhi; Commissioner of Police, Delhi; Vice-Chancellors of various Universities; Principal Secretary (Law), GNCTD; Secretary (Education), GNCTD ; and other Heads of Departments attended the programme.
Hon’ble LG stated that it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to preserve the true spirit of Indian Constitution and all of us should take a vow to follow the fundamental duties of, protecting and preserving unity, integrity and sovereignty of India and environment, culture and spirit of common brotherhood.
Hon’ble LG also urged that performing fundamental duties will contribute to the goal of attaining overall happiness in society and a ‘Developed India’.
The Constitution Day shall be celebrated by all departments of GNCTD, DDA, Delhi Police, New Delhi Municipal Corporation and all three municipal corporations. Education Department also organized a variety of activities in all its schools and institutions wherein school children read out Preamble and Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Constitution. Similar activities were also organized in all institutes of higher education of Delhi.
