Lt. Governor chairs meeting to review the progress of implementation of Multi-Modal Integration plans of DMRC metro stations.

UTTIPEC approved 40 MMI plans for phase – 3 metro lines.

MMI plan should give utmost importance to pedestrian facilities and walkability: LG

Effective engineering solutions to promote walkability and reduce congestion around metro stations: Lt. Governor

Charging facilities for the e-vehicle at each metro stations to encourage e-vehicles for last mile connectivity : LG

Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Sh. Anil Baijal chaired meeting to review progress of implementation of Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) plans on DMRC metro stations. The meeting was attended by Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Transport), GNCTD; Spl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic), MD (DIMTS); MD (DTIDC), Pr. Chief Engineer (PWD); Chief Architect (DMRC) and other concerned officers.

UTTIPEC approved 40 Multi Modal Integration plans for phase – 3 metro lines.  DMRC will complete execution within next 6 months with priority to pedestrian facilities.

Additional Commissioner (Planning), UTTIPEC also made a detailed presentation on the status of preparation of MMI plans by DMRC for implementation on the ground by various executing agencies before Hon’ble Lt. Governor.

DMRC informed Hon’ble LG that they have submitted 40 revised drawings of MMI to UTTIPEC based on actual site conditions and updated traffic surveys for approval prior to going ahead with preparation of detailed drawing for execution.

 After detailed discussion and deliberation Hon’ble LG directed that DMRC should implement Multi Modal Integration plans with following principles:-

  • Priority to pedestrian facilities to promote walkability and reduced dependency on Intermediate Para Transit (IPT) for last mile connectivity.
  • Effective engineering solutions to segregate pedestrian and vehicular zones.
  • Connected pedestrian paths to assist commuters to seamlessly travel between various modes of transport.
  • Provision of vehicles for last mile connectivity suitable to the neighbourhood.

Hon’ble LG directed DMRC to prepare detailed MMI plans of remaining Metro Stations and start execution in these 40 metro stations consultation with Traffic Police, Transport Department and PWD.
