In continuation with the earlier meetings, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi, Sh. Anil Baijal today chaired a meeting to review the status of vacancy position in Services Department, Health Department, Directorate of Education and Revenue Department. The meeting was attended by Pr. Secretary (Revenue); Pr. Secretary (Health), Secretary (Services)/ Chairperson (DSSSB); Secretary (Education); Director (Education) and Secretary (DSSSB).
In this regard, a detailed presentation was made by all departments regarding current vacancy position, pending requisitions, dossiers and status of recruitment rules at all levels.
At the outset, Hon’ble LG directed Health Department to follow up closely with UPSC regarding filling up of the vacant positions. He further observed that the cadre restructuring for allowing interchangeability of teaching specialists and non-teaching specialists may be explored as per rules so that the services of these specialized Medical Officers may also be utilized for teaching. Hon’ble LG further advised that the qualification of Hospital Management may be explored to be added as a condition for Directors of various hospitals/institutes to keep pace with the requirements of changing times.
Hon’ble LG appreciated the efforts of DSSSB in filling up of 5437 posts of teachers since the last review meeting which was held in August, 2019. Hon’ble LG asked Secretary (Education), GNCTD to monitor the pendency and timelines for filling up the posts at the earliest. He further added that linkages may be established with Universities/Information Technology Institutes for hiring of IT professionals to get better pool of human resources with updated knowledge.
Lastly, Lt. Governor advised Health Department, Education Department and Revenue Department to hold regular DPC’s to fill up the vacancies of departmental promotion quota as well as to pursue matter with recruiting agencies to fill up Direct Recruitment Quota Vacancies.
