Chief Secretary to communicate to all Principal Secretaries / Secretaries / HODs for strict compliance of orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding advertisements in media by Government : LG
Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the Judgment dated 13.05.2015 (Point 2 of ‘Compliance and Enforcement’ Section of the Guidelines) has observed that
“Heads of government departments and agencies shall be responsible for ensuring compliance with these Guidelines and shall follow a procedure of certification of compliance before advertisements are released to the media.”
Hon’ble Lt. Governor asked Chief Secretary, Delhi to communicate to all Principal Secretaries / Secretaries / HODs for compliance for strict compliance of orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding release of advertisements in media by Government.
It is notable that earlier also Lt. Governor’s Secretariat had written letter to Chief Secretary, Delhi on 29th September, 2016 regarding compliance of the orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 13.05.2015 in Writ Petition (C) No.197/2004 & Writ Petition (C) No. 302/2012 that laid down principles for regulation of government advertisement.
