A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed today in the presence of Hon’ble LG between IIIT-Delhi and Municipal Corporations in presence of Smt. Sunita Kangra, Mayor, SDMC; Sh. Avtar Singh, Mayor, NDMC; Smt. Anju, Mayor, EDMC; all three Municipal Commissioners, Director and Registrar, IIIT-Delhi.
IIIT-Delhi will assist the Municipal Corporations in identifying right technology solutions in improving citizen service delivery; providing research based inputs for adoption of the modern technology; simplifying the existing processes,minimizing human interface by automating the frontend and backend processes and identifying and implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) based solutions in municipal functions to improve services delivery to the citizens.
Hon’ble Lt. Governor advised that Municipal Corporations should strive for modernizing their operation using technology for different municipal functions like waste disposal, parking management, property tax collection, town planning, etc.
On this occasion, Hon’ble LG congratulated Municipal Corporations and IIIT- Delhi and stated that by reinventing and modernizing their systems using latest technology, corporations would be able to provide better civic services to the citizens of Delhi. At the same time students/faculty of IIIT-Delhi will get to solve problems of citizens by working out technical solutions. This will be a perfect example of symbiotic relationship.
Hon’ble Lt Governor advised the corporations to minimise human interface by automating processes wherever possible to deliver citizen centric services in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister’s clarion call to promote digital delivery of services – Maximum Goverment, Minimum Governance.
