Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi chairs meeting regarding Traffic & Transportation issues of Dwarka Sub-city.

Hon’ble LG directs DDA and other concerned agencies to coordinate with each other so that the study would be completed by June, 2020.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Sh. Anil Baijal chaired a meeting regarding Traffic & Transportation issues of Dwarka. The meeting was attended by VC, DDA; Spl CP (Traffic), Delhi Police; Chief Engineer PWD; representative from School of Planning & Architecture (SPA) and other concerned stakeholders.

A detailed presentation was made by Prof. Sanjay Gupta from SPA on Comprehensive Traffic & Transportation plan of Dwarka Sub-city. The main focus was on analysis of secondary survey data collected from the various sources based on which key transport challanges were identified for Dwarka Sub-city.

After detailed discussions and deliberation, it was emphasized to focus on intercity and intracity linkages of Dwarka Sub-city with rest of the Delhi, intra city-NMT (Non Motorized Transport), enhanced accessibility to the urban villages, Para transit, local area parking management, intelligent traffic management & Multi modal integration in the planof all metro stations.

Hon’ble LG directed DDA to coordinate will all concerned stakeholders to ensure that the study of Traffic & Transport Plan of Dwarka Sub-city is comprehensive.

Earlier, Delhi Development Authority had signed an MoU with SPA for the preparation of Comprehensive Traffic & Transportation plan of Dwarka Sub-City in April, 2019.
