.    My dear fellow citizens,

This event, is not merely about, destroying seized narcotic substances. It is about dismantling, an ecosystem, that threatens our youth, weakens families, and harms, the future of society.  

As Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji has said, "Drugs bring with it darkness, destruction and devastation. Let us reiterate our commitment, to realise our vision, of a Drugs Free India. Remember - addiction is neither cool, nor a style statement." This vision, strengthens our resolve, that today's programme, is not only about destroying substances, but defeating a destructive mindset, and safeguarding, future generations.  

The vision of a Drug-Free India, under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, and the firm resolve, of Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, is not just a slogan, or a government programme. It is a national mission, and a social responsibility. In Delhi, we have collectively resolved, to achieve the goal, of a Drug-free Delhi, by 2027. To translate this vision into action, I am pleased to announce, the approval for the establishment of the, first dedicated, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Police Station, in New Delhi. It is going to be a significant step, towards strengthening public safety and responsive police.

Drugs do not, merely break laws - they break lives. They weaken families, disturb neighbourhoods, and feed organised crime. Every packet of narcotics, carries a chain of suffering: addiction, violence, and loss. That is why, our response must be stronger, than the threat, and sharper, than the network.

This mission, cannot succeed, through isolated action. It requires, a whole-of-government approach, and a whole-of-society movement. Police, schools, families, health agencies, communities, civil society organisations, media platforms, and citizens, must act together. When the State acts in silos, the drug network wins. When the State acts, as one, the drug network loses.  

Delhi Police has adopted, a comprehensive strategy, that goes far beyond, routine policing. Enforcement action, financial investigation, property attachment, hotspot mapping, Operation Kavach, school outreach, and coordination, under NCORD (Narco-Coordination Centre) reflect a structured, and mission-oriented effort. Particularly important, is dismantling the financial backbone, of drug trafficking. Illegal wealth from narcotics, destroys society twice - through addiction, then through, organised crime.

Today, the fight against drugs, is being taken to a new level, with a sharper and more co-ordinated approach. I have approved, the establishment of a dedicated, Anti-Narcotics Task Force Police Station, in Delhi. This institutional initiative, will strengthen coordination, improve focused enforcement, and enhance our sustained action, against narcotics networks, operating in the capital.

Preventive and awareness initiatives, are equally vital. Campaigns like "Nasha? Not Cool" and Project Badlav, speak directly to young people. Awareness is, prevention, and prevention is always, more powerful than cure. The war against drugs, is won in classrooms, homes, and neighbourhoods - before addiction takes hold.  Across cities, across the world, the most successful anti-drug efforts, combine enforcement, with education, and community awareness-Delhi too, must implement the global practices, effectively.

Today's programme carries, deep symbolic significance. Around 1,700 kg, of narcotic substances, worth nearly ?72 crore, in the international market, are being scientifically destroyed. This represents, not only enforcement success, but also the victory of law, over criminality, and hope over addiction.  

The MANAS Portal, launched under the guidance, of the Hon'ble Union Home Minister, empowers citizens, to confidentially share information, seek counselling, and contribute, to building a safer society. I urge parents, and young people, to make full use, of this facility.  

No government or police force, alone can eliminate drugs, unless society stands united. Parents must remain connected. Teachers must stay alert. Communities must refuse, to normalise addiction, and youth must reject, false glamour. Silence protects, traffickers; awareness, defeats them.  

Youth of Delhi, must remember: your dreams, are bigger than drugs, your future, brighter, than addiction. Choose sports, over substances, purpose, over peer pressure, and life, over addiction.  
Let us together build a Delhi, where youth are empowered, not addicted; where communities are vigilant, not vulnerable; and where drugs, find no market, no shelter, and no acceptance.  
Before I conclude, I appeal to every citizen:  
If you see, drugs - report it.  
If you know, a vulnerable child - support them.  
If you know a trafficker - expose them.  
And if you care, for Delhi's future - join this movement.  
Together, with courage and commitment, we will defeat drugs.
