Climate change, energy security, geopolitical uncertainty, and supply chain disruptions, are no longer an isolated concern. They are deeply interconnected, realities, shaping the future of economies, governance, and international cooperation.

For countries across the world, the central challenge today, is not whether, there will be an energy transition, but how that transition, can be made sustainable, equitable, technologically viable, and economically inclusive.

India occupies, a particularly significant position, in this transformation.

As one of the world's, fastest-growing major economies, India's development choices, will inevitably influence, global climate outcomes. At the same time, India has demonstrated, that economic growth and sustainability, need not be, contradictory objectives.

Under the leadership of, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India has emerged as, one of the leading global voices, on renewable energy, and climate responsibility. Hon'ble Prime Minister has affirmed, 'We are moving forward, to a net zero future... a renewable energy future. We will show with our actions.' This conviction underscores, India's credibility in delivering climate commitments through real progress, and it is reflected in initiatives, such as the International Solar Alliance, which reflects, India's efforts to shape constructive international partnerships, around clean energy, and sustainability.

What is particularly important today is that the energy transition is no longer confined to a single sector.

It now spans, renewable energy generation, mobility, industrial decarbonisation, sustainable fuels, waste-to-energy systems, circular economies, carbon markets, and emerging technologies, such as AI-enabled energy management, and smart infrastructure.

The discussions taking place here, on bioenergy, compressed biogas, sustainable aviation fuel, solar, wind, hydel energy, green mobility, and clean technologies-are therefore, not isolated, technical conversations. They are part of, a larger restructuring, of how economies will produce, consume, and sustain energy, over the coming decades.

Equally important, is the question of implementation.

The transition towards, net zero cannot succeed through policy declarations alone. It requires collaboration, between governments, industry, academia, innovators, financial institutions, startups, and international partners.

That is why platforms, such as this, matter.

They bring together policymakers, technology developers, investors, and industry leaders, to focus, not only on ambition, but also, on execution.

Cities, particularly, will play a defining role, in this transition.

As the national capital, Delhi, faces many of the environmental, and urban challenges, confronting modern cities globally-air pollution, urban heat stress, waste management, mobility pressures, and ecological sustainability.

But Delhi also, has the opportunity, to become, a model, for urban environmental transformation.

A greener Delhi, must become central, to both quality of life, and climate resilience.

The development of biodiversity zones, and eco-restoration efforts, across the Yamuna River floodplains, are particularly significant, in this regard.

The Yamuna is, not merely, a water body. It is an eco-logical lifeline, whose restoration is closely linked, to Delhi's environment future.

Similarly, urban horticulture, tree-cover expansion, shade infrastructure, and Miya-waki-style dense plantations, are important interventions, in addressing heat stress, improving air quality, and strengthening urban resilience.

But sustainability cannot succeed, through government intervention, alone.

Citizen participation, will be equally critical.

Resident Welfare Associations, adopting parks, school-level plantation drives, community participation, in green initiatives, and greater public ownership, of environmental spaces, can create a more sustainable, urban culture.

Because ultimately, environmental consciousness must become embedded, not only in policy, but also, in everyday civic behaviour.

At the same time, India's clean energy transition, presents a major, economic opportunity.

The sectors represented here-from renewable energy, and sustainable fuels, to EV mobility, carbon markets, and clean technology innovation-have the potential, to generate investment, manufacturing growth, entrepreneurship, and large-scale employment.

The future global economy, will increasingly reward, countries that are able to align, sustainability with competitive-ness.

India has the scale, talent, entrepreneur capacity, and policy momentum, to emerge as a major global hub, in this sector.

But this transition, must remain balanced, and inclusive.

A just energy transition, means ensuring, that sustainability remains accessible, and economically viable, not only for large industries, but also, for smaller enterprises, farmers, workers, and local communities.
