Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Faculty Members
Distinguished Guests,
Proud Parents, and my dear Graduating Students,
Every convocation, marks more than, the completion of an academic journey—it marks, the beginning of countless new ones. Today, as I stand here, at the 18th Convocation of, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and my first as Chancellor, I see, not just, graduates, but individuals, ready to shape, the future of our nation.
A university is, not merely a collection of buildings, or a grantor of degrees; it is a sanctuary of ideas, and a forge, where character, capability, and conviction, are shaped.
Named after Guru Gobind Singh Ji, this institution carries, a legacy of courage, wisdom, and service. His teachings—rooted in truth, humility, discipline, and compassion—remain deeply relevant in today’s, rapidly changing world. They remind us, that education is not, just about knowledge, but about values, that guide its use.
Established in 1998, GGSIPU has, in a relatively short span, grown into a vibrant, multidisciplinary university. It has consistently nurtured, talent and fostered excellence, in professional and technical education, preparing students, not just, for careers, but for meaningful contributions, to society.
The graduating class of 2026 stands at a unique moment, in history. The world you step into, is being reshaped by, unprecedented technology change—from Artificial Intelligence, to sustainable innovation. In such a landscape, education must go beyond degrees; it must equip you, with adaptability, critical thinking, and the courage to innovate.
As Lieutenant Governor, I witness firsthand, the challenges before our city, and our nation. But I also see immense opportunity. We need individuals, who do not merely seek employment, but who create solutions,—whether in urban development, public health, or digital governance. Each of you, has the potential to contribute, to the vision of a Viksit Delhi and a Viksit Bharat of PM Modi by 2047.
As you move forward, allow me to leave you, with three thoughts:
Choose resilience over comfort. The path ahead will not always be easy, but it is through challenges, that character is built.
Lead with integrity. In a fast-moving world, let your values remain, constant. Build not just quickly, but wisely, and responsibly.
Embrace the spirit of service. Never forget the community, that supported you. True success lies, in how many lives, you uplift, along the way.
To the parents—your sacrifices, are the silent strength, behind this achievement. To the faculty—your guidance has transformed, curiosity into capability.
To the graduates, the degree you receive today, is not the end of learning, but the beginning, of a lifelong journey. Stay curious, stay grounded, and move forward with confidence.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji taught us, that knowledge is the greatest force, for justice and service. As you step into the world, carry this ethos with you. Your education, is not just a personal milestone, it is a responsibility.
The future of Delhi, and of Bharat will be shaped, by minds like yours. Step forward with courage, act with purpose, and strive to, make a difference.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026.
