कुछ ऐसा कर चलो कि जमाना *मिसालदे।

आगे बढ़ते हुए अपने Professional, Personal, Social और National Role जो भूमिका आप निभायेंगेउसके लिए मैं कहना चाहूँगा

You are lucky that your parents and your institution has given you an opportunity. Of course you are talented and you will create more opportunities for yourself, using the opportunity provided to you today. But my dear students, go ahead and become winners by utilizing the opportunities that you create for yourselves. Become the winds beneath the Nation’s wings.

Dear Students,

08.  You should be very proud of the fact that you all have been trained by such an eminent institution over the last few years. When you came to this institution a few years ago, you were sown like a seed in the soil of this university. You were watered and nurtured every day by your teachers, and protected from the outside world as you grew from the little seed to a little sapling above the soil.

09.  Today marks the day, for you to break out of the soil and grow big. Just like a plant branching out, you all must explore the diverse opportunities that lie ahead, and keep developing professionally. While doing so, you must learn to navigate challenges, and adapt to the dynamic world around you, just like a plant keeps bending towards sunlight.

10.  I would also like to warn you that just like a growing plant needs to face the winds and storms of the outside world, you will also face adversities as you step out into the world. Remember, even the strongest storm can not blow away a plant whose roots are strong. This academic training and holistic development that you have undergone in this university in the last few years have made your academic roots very strong. So, do not fear as you face the world. Today is not just a ceremony, but a day of transformation for each one of you. Today, you are all set to create a history of your own!

11.  I also want to encourage you to dream big! Remember, everything big in this world became possible because someone dreamt of it, fearlessly. However, you must prepare yourselves appropriately to realize your dreams. A dream without the capability to realize it will never good fulfilled. It is rightly said that:

“You cannot fly like an eagle, with the wings of a wren”.

If you want to fly high, you need to be prepared to fly high. I want you all to strengthen the wings of your knowledge and capability every day so that you all fly to the high skies in your upcoming professional lives. You will have to instil within yourselves, the capacity to take decisions, how much so ever tough day may be.

बड़े निर्णय लेते वक्त डरना गलत बात नहीं है,

लेकिन डर के कारणनिर्णय ही  लेंये गलत बात है।

12.  I also want to advice you on the power of optimism in life. In general, people get disheartened when they face failures. I want you all to think differently. As Prof. Randy Pausche rightly said, “If things aren’t going well, that probably means you are learning a lot, and it will go better later”When a little child learns to walk for the first time, he fails a hundred times every day. Each time when he gets up to walk and falls, he doesn’t tell himself that perhaps, walking is not my cup of tea! He tries relentlessly till he learns to walk.

You need to look at the failures just like that little child. It is true that there will be storms in life, and there will be many failures. Your job is to sail through all those storms with courage. You may adjust the sails of your ship, but the important thing is tocontinue to sail! You must remember that, it is not your destination that will shape your path, it is your strong will to achieve your destination, that will shape your path. Someone has rightly said and I quote,

कौन बताता है समंदर का रास्ता नदी को....!

जिसे मंजिल का जुनून है वो मशवरा नहीं लेते... ! !

Dear Friends,

13.  I take this opportunity to share with you that you should always cultivate an attitude of gratitude in yourself. As your progress in life, continue to thank God, your parents, your teachers and everyone who has contributed to your success, in even the smallest way possible. Thankfulness has the power to make the world a better place to live in, and we must never underestimate its value.

14.  I also want to make you aware of the priorities that you should have in life. Your first priority in life should not be to become a successful person, but to become a good and benevolent person. In general, success and arrogance are directly proportional, in most of the people around us. The key to happiness is to make this relationship inverse. You all will do great things in life! In doing so, never let arrogance consume you. Remember, you are a plant! The higher your shoot of success is, the deeper your root of kindness and benevolence should also be! Otherwise, you will dwindle and fall! As I often say,

डिग्रियाँ तो पढ़ाई के खर्च की रसीदें हैं,

ज्ञान वही है जो दूसरों के प्रति आपका व्यवहार दर्शाता है.

15.  As you go on to create a history of your own, I encourage you to explore the world around you. Never lose the courage to traverse new paths fearlessly. Never be afraid of experimenting. After all, great discoveries were not made through some pre-defined set of rules or procedures. They were made through the courage of some people who didn’t fear to think beyond the conventional limits of the world. Stay curious, resilient, and true to your dreams, carving a path, that is uniquely your own.

Dear Friends,

16.  Do not forget that the name of Delhi Technological University will go with you wherever you go. I am sure that you all will bring many more glories to the prestigious name of this university and to this nation as a whole. I wish you all the very best for the future.

Jai Hind
