Focus on proper delineation, strict perimeter control, intensified IEC, active house to house surveillance with special focus on high risk population for their effective management as per GoI guidelines: LG

Hon’ble Lt. Governor today reviewed containment zones management strategies in Delhi with Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Health Minister, Chief Secretary, Addl. Chief Secretary (Home), Commissioner of Police, Delhi Joint Secretary (DM), MHA, Pr. Secy. (Health), Divisional Commissioner, Spl Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), District Magistrates, Deputy Commissioners of Police and other officers through Video Conference.

At the outset, Hon’ble Lt. Governor stated that our objective is to break the chain of transmission and reducing the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19.  He further added that ramping up bed capacity and medical resources should be our topmost priority in handling the pandemic so that surge in cases doesn’t overwhelm health care system. 

Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed all District Magistrates & Deputy Commissioners of Police to focus on proper delineation, strict perimeter control, intensified IEC, active house to house surveillance with special focus on high risk population for their effective management as per GoI guidelines. He urged field functionaries to ensure mobility restrictions, social distancing measures, hygienic practices quarantine of contacts, risk communication and awareness among public on preventive and public health measures to contain COVID-19 and its further spread. 

Divisional Commissioner made a detailed presentation about the status of COVID-19 in Delhi. It was informed that upto 11th June, 2020 there are total 34867 confirmed cases in Delhi out of which 12731 patients have recovered. 77.8% of the active cases are recuperating in Home Isolation. 242 containment zones are active in Delhi at present. Hon’ble Lt. Governor was also apprised about cluster analysis and district wise trend of COVID-19.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor advised DMs/DCPs to constructively engage RWAs, MTAs & volunteers for managing containment zones & enforcing preventive measures.

Lt. Governor added that a large no. of COVID-19 patients are in home isolation, all efforts should be made for timely response in terms of testing, triaging and shifting of patients to the required level of dedicated COVID facility to ensure proper medical care. He also directed concerned authorities to closely monitor senior citizens and persons with co-morbid or underlying medical conditions.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor reiterated that LED display boards of information by hospitals on availability of beds, applicable charges be installed & it be ensured that all those who are in need of medical care are attended to.
