Lt. Governor, Delhi Sh. Anil Baijal chaired crime review meeting of Delhi Police. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Delhi, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Spl. CPs and Jt. CPs of Delhi Police.

Delhi Police made a detailed presentation about establishment of citizen-friendly kiosks for provision of services. The proposal is currently in the conceptual stage. Delhi Police informed Hon’ble Lt. Governor about various proposed features of the Kiosks.

Some of the salient features of these proposed technology-enabled kiosks include: complaint registration; capturing biometric/aadhar card/mobile phone etc; graphic user interface; speech to text and text to speech facility; natural language processing; reinforcement learning and self learning; acknowledgement and copy of the complaint issued, etc.

It was further informed to Hon’ble Lt. Governor that the Kiosks could help in providing various citizen-centric services like senior citizen registration; Himmat Plus registration; domestic help and tenant verification; Police Clearance Certificate; Character Verification Reports; Applications for License; e-FIR; Lost & Found Reporting; Missing Children; Un-identified child found; Missing Persons; Unidentified Persons; stolen vehicles; unclaimed vehicles; information about arrested persons & RTI.

Delhi Police also apprised Hon’ble Lt. Governor that benefits of e-Kiosks include providing immediate help to the victim, promoting transparency, addressing the behavioral issues; digital evidence; no language barrier etc.

Hon’ble Lt. Governor advised Delhi Police to explore such models so that the proposed Kiosks are optimally technology-enabled in such a manner that the various citizen services are provided completely electronically without any human interface.

Finally, Hon’ble Lt. Governor also suggested Delhi Police to plan these Kiosks in such a way that they are people-friendly, and are not very complicated in their use for the common man.
