•    LG issues detailed directions for making ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign beginning from 22nd July, 2022 a memorable one. 

•    NDMC, MCD & DDA to identify prominent roads and important markets to be decorated with the tricolor to give a celebratory look.

•    Flyovers in the NDMC area will be illuminated in the colors of the National Flag.

•    National Capital will be painted in the hue of National Flag befitting the historic occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Come 15th August, 2022 – the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, the National Capital will be painted in the hue of National Flag befitting the historic occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Preparations for this, as also the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign beginning 22nd July, 2022, are underway. Prominent roads in the city, markets, flyovers, roundabouts, schools & hospitals of the civic agencies will be decked up with the colours of the National Tri-Colour. Fostering the nationalistic and celebratory fervor, all employees of the ULBs will have the Tri-Colour pinned on their lapels. 

Following the meeting with regards to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ chaired by the Home Minister on Sunday last, which was attended by all Governors, Lt. Governors, Chief Ministers and Administrators of UTs, the LG Shri V.K. Saxena has issued detailed directions for making the event memorable. 

NDMC and MCD will identify prominent roads like Sardar Patel Marg and Shanti Path, and important market areas in their respective jurisdiction to be decorated with the tricolor to give a celebratory look to the entire city from 13th August to 15th August. The DDA will carry out similar exercise in the markets owned and controlled by it. 

The Flyovers in the NDMC area will be illuminated in the colors of the National Flag during this period and Municipal schools and hospitals will hoist the National Flag in their premises at a prominent location from 13th August to 15th August.

All employees of the Urban local bodies (ULBs), irrespective of rank and designation will wear lapel pins of the tricolor in the days running up to the 75th Independence Day and they will be encouraged to purchase these pins.
ULBs will identify important roundabouts in their area for display of tricolor through different means like floral boards, Flags, and illumination in the colors of the National Flag.

All departments of GNCTD, apart from MCD, NDMC, DDA and Delhi Police have been asked by LG to make concerted efforts for popularizing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative by ensuring maximum Jan Bhagidari. To this effect, a special IEC campaign is scheduled to be launched on July, 22nd for public awareness and Prabhat Pheris by school students will be organized from 11th to 14th August, 2022. 

In addition to these, directions have been issued to ensure that the National Flag appears on the Home Page of all websites of various government departments and undertakings with effect from July 22nd, 2022. 

An order to this effect, was issued by the LG Secretariat, after a meeting of LG with the Chief Secretary, Chairman, NDMC, Special Officer, MCD, Vice Chairman, DDA and Commissioner, MCD on 19th July, 2022, with directions that detailed action plan thereof be submitted for LG’s perusal before the 22nd of July, 2022.
