I am happy that the Admissions 2023-24, at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi, have been initiated.
The University in a short period of time has become one of the well-known higher education institutions for social sciences and humanities in Delhi NCR and the country. The University is known for its innovative curriculum, pedagogy and continuous system of assessments, in line with suggestions made by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The University has consistently demonstrated a forward-looking thought and innovative spirit across institutional aspects. This makes the University a potential leader in the implementation of several new policy ideas, especially those recommended by the NEP 2020. The University has already implemented five essential principles of NEP 2020 – Multidisciplinary degrees, Innovative holistic curriculum and pedagogy, Academic Bank of Credits, Student welfare and inclusion, Community service, and Internationalisation.
In a short span of time, it implemented four-year undergraduate programme model without compromising the uniqueness of the curricular contents. I am certain that the University will fulfill the NEP 2020 vision of MERU – Multidisciplinary Education and Research University and will become one of the best institutions not only in the country, but globally as well.
As students plan for their career trajectories at this stage, I encourage them to integrate goals of sustainable development across their interests. We are dealing with several ecological issues and have the responsibility to create a sustainable future. If all the young people pledge to be conscious about their role in building a sustainable future through their study, work and daily life, it will have a multiplier effect and will benefit everyone. I am happy that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi has undertaken appreciable efforts through teaching, research, practice and extension work in this area.
I trust that the students will gain immensely from the rich academic environment of the University. I convey my best wishes to all the young aspirants of higher education.
